Plant-based eatery Taste and See recently opened in Milledgeville, GA. The eatery is owned by Harry Watkins, a licensed orthotist who has been plant-based since 1997. He decided to open his own restaurant as another way to promote healthy living as he neared retirement from his healthcare career.

“As a result of my healthcare career, I’ve always wanted to do something to help people,” Watkins told media outlet The Union-Recorder. “I just want to transition into a new side of health.” Taste and See is the first vegan restaurant in Milledgeville, offering healthier versions of comfort foods such as the Taste and See Burger, which features a Beyond Meat patty, Thousand Islands dressing, vegan cheese, pickles, tomato, lettuce, and onion on a pretzel bun with air-fried potato wedges on the side; air-fried Buffalo, BBQ, or Parmesan cauliflower wings; and Jerked Caesar Salad featuring romaine lettuce, tomatoes, red onions, peppers, sweet potato croutons, jerk-seasoned tofu, and Caesar dressing.

Taste and See is located at 151 N Jefferson St NE and currently offers meals for takeout and has a dine-in space and outdoor patio.
