Today, plant-based Impossible Burger launches at more than 2,100 Walmart locations nationwide. The Impossible Burger will be sold in 12-ounce packages for $7.49, with many stores stocking the plant-based burger in the fresh meat department. “Impossible Foods’ goal is to make the global food system sustainable. To do that, Impossible Burger has to be available everywhere people shop for meat,” Impossible Foods CEO Patrick O. Brown said. “More Americans buy meat for their families at Walmart than anywhere else. We’re confident that once Walmart customers try Impossible, they’ll become enthusiastic advocates of our products and our mission.” The Walmart launch follows Impossible Foods’ expansion into affordable grocery chain Trader Joe’s on Monday where 12-ounce packages of Impossible Burger are now sold for $7.99 (prices may vary by location).

Impossible Foods made its retail debut in September 2019 at supermarket Gelson’s in Southern California followed by an East Coast launch at retailers Fairway and Wegmans shortly thereafter. In May, the company expanded distribution of its Impossible Burger to 1,700 Kroger and Kroger-owned stores in 28 states. With the new Walmart launch, the Impossible Burger is now available at 8,000 retail locations nationwide.
