Evergreen Organics recently opened as the first all-vegan café in the Hamad International Airport in Doha, Qatar. In 2016, vegan engineer Ghanim Al-Sulaiti opened the first location of Evergreen Organics in Doha at the age of 24 with the mission of providing healthy, plant-based whole foods to his community. “For years and years I have continued to share my strong passion for healthy, organic vegan food. I’ve designed my whole life around the concept of veganism, and I’ve developed businesses to provide communities with access to plant-based goodness,” Al-Sulaiti said. “The very idea of being able to find vegan food in an airport would be something I’d day dream about while waiting for a flight. I’ve spent almost over half a decade packing quality vegan foods into various containers or tubs, packages or bottles before flying, only to face the next challenge of trying to get it all through the various security checkpoints of the airport. I’ve had more jars of cashew nut butter confiscated than I can count.”

Open 24 hours per day, the airport location of Evergreen Organics is decorated with a variety of plants to convey a “jungle vibe” and serves cold-pressed juices, breakfast bowls, coconut water inside real coconuts, and nutritious meals.

“It’s now estimated there are around one billion vegans worldwide, and I can’t wait to build a strong community of plant-based eating travellers at our airport location,” Al-Sulaiti said. “I’ve written extensively about how it’s never been a more important time to eat healthy vegan food amidst the COVID-19 pandemic—and now, with air travel demand starting to increase, travellers at the best airport in the Middle East are able to do this too, as we embark on a new chapter, together.”
