Tofu brand House Foods America recently teamed up with celebrity chef David Burtka to launch a children’s video series about cooking with tofu. The Tales of Tofu was created to educate and inspire home chefs to eat healthier while getting the entire family engaged in cooking together. The video series, which is hosted on YouTube, unfolds as an animated story featuring a character named “Tofu,” who seeks adventure and entertainment on a rainy day. Viewers see the versatility of tofu as he mixes up with other ingredients and the step-by-step instructions to prepare Burtka’s recipes. Burtka, who is a father of two and the star of Food Network’s Life is a Party, provided the narrative and created the kid-friendly recipes shown in the series: tofu nuggets, tofu stir fry, and tropical tofu smoothie.

“As American consumers continue to embrace plant-based foods, they’re seeking easy ways to incorporate tofu into their family’s diet,” Tina Bui, House Foods America marketing manager, said. “Yet many still struggle with tofu, and aren’t sure which variety to use when, or how to prepare it in a way the kids will like.”

The video series follows the success of last year’s popular children’s book of the same name from House Foods, and features the same little Tofu character.
