Alternative News Source Films McDonald’s Ad Parody

Alternative online news outlet Redacted Tonight recently released a mock McDonalds commercial starring stand-up comedian and activist Lee Camp. In the satirical video, Camp plays an eager patron who cheerfully lists the ingredients of Chicken McNugget while holding the Mc-menu item. Camp’s upbeat intonation and fan-boy enthusiasm are starkly contrasted by the unsavory ingredients like riboflavin, folic acid, dextrose, niacin, and sodium-aluminum phosphate that he lyrically lists. He also sings some of the serious side effects linked to the ingredients, which include severe liver damage, stomach tumors, and premature death. After tunefully rattling off an ingredient list for more than 30 seconds, Camp asks the obvious question, “Why don’t you guys just make it out of chicken?” At the end of the commercial, when he’s instructed to take a bite out of the McNugget, the look of on Camp’s face turns from enthusiasm to obvious unease.
