Amar’e Stoudemire suffered from chronic knee problems that rendered him unable to play a complete NBA season since 2010. In search of “the best opportunity to remain healthy,” the nearly seven-foot tall, 245-pound superstar went vegan and tells The New York Times, “It feels great to feel great.” Stoudemire performed well in the opening week of the 2013 season, and played back-to-back games just months after his third knee surgery. He attributes his strong recovery to his plant-based diet. Stoudemire and the Knicks are currently leading their division.
