Ballet Austin Features Piece About a Vegan Society

Starting this weekend, Ballet Austin will run an original comic-style piece about Sesom, a vegan priest who guides seven vegan disciples on an epic journey in search of color for their black and white world. Cult of Color: Call to Color is a collaboration between artist Trenton Doyle Hancock, choreographer Stephen Mills, and composer Graham Reynolds. The performance piece took three years to complete and consists of two acts; during the story, Sesom comes across Painter, an unusual creature, who introduces the priest to color and meat. After his encounter with Painter, Sesom tries to convince the seven vegan disciples to join his Cult of Color, and the theme of good versus evil unfolds.
