Betty Crocker conducted a survey on its Facebook page, which boasts more than 750,000 fans, in order to come up with the Betty 10 Red Hot Holiday Trends, and alternative diets including gluten-free and vegan came in at number eight. The article posted on the Betty Crocker website contains a link to Vegan Sugar Cookies as part of its supporting material for the eighth spot, and states that “alternative diets are becoming a way of life for many—maybe even you!” Betty Crocker also lists companion animals as a Hot Trend coming in at number four, stating that “pets are part of the family.”
