In honor of animal-rights author Susie Duncan Sexton, publisher Open Books is donating $1 of all online sales from her paperback release Secrets of an Old Typewriter to the Symphony Animal Foundation from December 6 through 9. Sexton dedicates a section of the book to animals, recalling the role animal rescue has played in her life. “Animals are my heart and soul … I am so grateful that we can do something with the book to help educate and support our animal friends.” To participate, readers can order the book in paperback from the online retailer of their choice. At the end of the sales period, Open Books will calculate the sales and send a contribution to the no-kill animal shelter and foundation, which is in need of food and supplies for its new five-acre, one-year lease facility.
