To honor World Vegan Day on November 1, Business Insider published an online article that listed 12 common supermarket selections that are surprisingly cruelty-free. “[Veganism] eliminates any animal-derived products,” writes the publication. “But that doesn’t mean a vegan’s diet has to be limited to fruits, vegetables, and tofu.” On Business Insider’s list are dessert staples such as Duncan Hines Creamy Home-Style Frosting (Classic Vanilla), Jell-O Instant Pudding Mix, and Oreos, along with savory entrée options like Del Monte’s White Corn Cream Style, Hunt’s Manwich Sloppy Joe Sauce, and Annie’s Organic Worcestershire Sauce. The publication also includes Smucker’s Marshmallow Ice Cream Topping, Fritos, Nestle Nesquick Syrup, and Smart Balance Light Buttery Spread.
