Vegan chef Tal Ronnen has cultivated quite the fanfare with his highly praised new LA hotspot, Crossroads, and now he’s taken to E! Online to share five steps everyone can take to reduce meat consumption and go vegan. Ronnen may be known for his elaborate cruelty-free fare––such as the much-lauded Artichoke Oysters with artichoke purée, oyster mushrooms, and kelp caviar served at Crossroads––but when it comes to transitioning to veganism, he says to start slow and try meat substitutes such as Gardein. “Get inspired by recipe books … if you go into this with a sense of the abundance of options rather than a feeling of lack, vegan cooking and eating will be anything but boring”, Ronnen tells E!. The celebrity chef also encourages people to educate themselves on proper nutrition and the benefits of going meat-free.
