Earth Hour 2010

Show your support for the environment by turning off your lights during Earth Hour.

While being veg already benefits the environment, this year’s third annual Earth Hour urges people to take their support for the environment one step further by flipping off their lights for one hour tonight. To send a message that people care about climate change, participants switch off all non-essential lighting for one hour at 8:30pm local time, meaning Earth Hour begins in New Zealand and ends in Hawaii. Last year, nearly 1 billion people from 4,100 cities in 87 countries turned off their lights for the event. Past participating worldwide landmarks included the Eiffel Tower, Big Ben, Sydney’s Opera House, the Empire State Building, and the Golden Gate Bridge.
