Ethical Designer Creates Vegan Star Wars Hi-Tops
You won’t have to travel to another galaxy for these animal-free Kylo Ren-inspired vegan shoes.

In August, ethical design company Po-Zu will begin shipping a vegan Star Wars hi-top inspired by the film series’ character Kylo Ren. The unisex shoes ($92.60) bear an illustration of Ren’s helmet, are made in Sri Lanka, and are comprised of organic cotton and locally sourced Fair Trade rubber. The shoes feature a removable memory-foam “foot-mattress” made with latex and coconut husk that allows wearers to add an orthotics insert, if they choose. Po-Zu has been recognized many times for their ethical contributions to fashion and footwear, including a nomination for a Green Award for its coconut husk-based shoebox, which doubled as a seed tray. Clearly a fan of Star Wars, Po-Zu founder Sven Segal previously created the Porgs high-top—inspired by chicken-like space creatures—which the brand released in conjunction with last year’s debut of Star Wars: The Last Jedi.
