Harvard Ignores Meatless Monday Majority Vote

According to The Harvard Crimson, Harvard University Dining Services recently rejected a proposal to integrate the Meatless Monday program into the school’s dining hall, despite nearly 70 percent of students voting in favor of the initiative. The Ivy League University even received a letter in support from Sir Paul McCartney, but the graduate dining hall manager stated, “we cannot and will not go meat free for any dinner service.” Ninety-five percent of students had to be in favor for the motion to be considered. More than 100 other schools currently participate in the program, including Eastern Kentucky, Duke, and Yale Universities.
