As gourmet vegan restaurants sprout up from coast to coast, finding unique food that is presented beautifully and cruelty-free is becoming easier than ever. To celebrate the best of vegan dining, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) announced its Top Six Vegan Fine-Dining Establishments, highlighting each restaurant’s superstar dishes. Winners include Vedge in Philadelphia, Candle 79 in New York City, Elizabeth’s Gone Raw in Washington, DC, Plant in Asheville, NC, Crossroads in Los Angeles, and Ravens Restaurant in Mendocino, CA. “The demand for plant-based fine dining is through the roof across the US, and these restaurants are all setting the bar for delicious vegan fare,” PETA President Ingrid E. Newkirk said. The list also includes photos of staffers’ favorite meals at each of the restaurants.
