On May 30, Green House Studios in Santa Barbara plays host to a vegan fundraiser for Los Angeles-based National Museum of Animals & Society—the first museum to explore the human-animal bond through art exhibits, educational lectures, and community events. The surrealist garden party will celebrate the life and creativity of Mexican artist Frida Kahlo, whose many animal companions and muses included monkeys, dogs, and various types of birds. Guests are encouraged to come dressed inspired by Frida, and will be treated to live music, surrealist games, and an artistic array of plant-based fare prepared by chef Jason Wyrick. The museum is also hosting its first annual gala on June 6 in Los Angeles.
