Food brand Biena Snacks recently partnered with the Girl Scouts of the USA to develop its newest vegan product, a Thin Mint cookie-inspired chickpea snack. Biena began experimenting with a chocolate-covered peppermint flavor last year when founder Poorvi Patodia identified a co-branding opportunity with the female-empowerment organization. “People started to make the comment that these taste a whole lot like Girl Scout Thin Mint cookies,” Patodia told The Washington Post. “From there, I thought, ‘I wonder if the Girl Scouts would actually partner with us?’” The Thin Mints Chickpea Snacks can also be enjoyed frozen, which is a popular method of consuming Thin Mint cookies. While Girl Scout Thin Mint cookies are available only during the organization’s cookie-selling season, Biena’s chickpea version will be available year-round at all Whole Foods Markets nationwide starting in June.
