If you’re of age, chances are you’ll be enjoying a green beer on St. Patrick’s Day. But before you do, why not start your day with another colorful, yet healthful beverage—a green smoothie? Our simple recipe calls for a mere five ingredients and provides energy throughout the day, which you’ll need for this festive occasion.

What you need:

5 large kale leaves, stems removed (or 2 cups baby spinach)
3½ cups coconut water or water
5 medjool dates, pits removed
3 bananas
5 strawberries

What you do:

Into a blender, add greens and water, dates, bananas, and strawberries, and blend until smooth. Add more coconut water if a thinner consistency is desired.
