Whole Foods to Launch Affordable Grocery Chain

In these tough economic times, Whole Foods’ “whole paycheck” reputation is no joke for those trying to eat a healthy, plant-based diet on a budget. Though the company provides a wider selection of vegan and organic options than most mainstream supermarkets, its prices remain out of many people’s price range. So the Austin, Texas-based business is launching a nationwide grocery store chain that will sell high-quality produce and specialty foods at lower cost to consumers. Whole Foods hasn’t announced a name for its new subsidiary supermarket yet, but plans to open its first outlet in 2016 with hopes of quick corporate expansion to hundreds of stores.
