Wild Plate: 2014 “Cookbook of the Year!”

Crowd-funded book is a work of (he)art and dazzles all the way!

There were three strong contenders for Cookbook of the Year—but you already know about two of them. Bryant Terry’s Afro-Vegan: Farm-Fresh African, Caribbean, and Southern Flavors Remixed, which received well-deserved accolades from celebrity chefs and home cooks alike, was named one of the best cookbooks of the year by Amazon. The Oh She Glows Cookbook: Over 100 Vegan Recipes to Glow from the Inside Out is a New York Times bestseller and VN readers voted it their Favorite Cookbook of 2014 in the Readers’ Poll. The third book, while not as well-known, wholeheartedly deserves to be. Laurel Anderson’s Wild Plate: Modern Living Cuisine is so visually stunning it belongs more on a coffee table than a kitchen shelf. The loving and sumptuous food photography will inspire any cook to elevate her game, and the innovative yet accessible recipes serve as the perfect introduction to raw cuisine. The Veggie Chili with Cashew Cream will lay to rest any suspicions that raw cuisine isn’t hearty or substantial—and is also the first veg chili ever to win top honors at the annual Malibu Chili Cook-Off. Finally, another thing we love about Wild Plate: it was funded with a Kickstarter campaign!
