Kids Raise Money for Animals
Children donate lemonade stand money to animal charity.
August 30, 2010
Jack and Eric Linari, aged nine and six years old respectively, have raised $769 for the Animal Rescue League of Boston. The brothers run Pirate Lemonade stand at the Dedham Farmers’ Market, where they sell homemade drinks and donate the proceeds to a charity of their choosing. The first two years they ran the stand, the boys chose to donate to the Dedham Food Pantry and to replace a stolen sign in their neighborhood. This year the boys handed over the funds to Pine Ridge Animal Center, where they had adopted a cat from in 2008, to help with renovation costs at the shelter. “We heard that they were going to re-do it, so we gave them some money to do it,” Jack said.
