Biology graduate student and NASCAR driver Leilani Münter is once again bringing her passion for animal welfare to the racetrack. Münter is teaming up with the Oceanic Preservation Society with her “200 mph Blackfish Poster,” a race-ready Toyota Camry that promotes Blackfish, a CNN documentary about ocean theme parks such as SeaWorld that inhumanely confine Orcas for human entertainment. Münter and the OPS plan to race the car at Talladega Superspeedway on May 3, 2014, an event that will be broadcast by Fox Sports 1, and will be available in 90 million homes across the country. In order for the Blackfish car to race in the top division, Münter and her team need to raise $115,000. “It’s time we place our own ad fighting against captivity,” says OPS. “In this race, victory will be measured by every race fan that sees the film.” Click here to donate.
