Vegan arm-wrestling champion Rob Bigwood has always been an outspoken animal-rights activist, but now he’s able to deliver his cruelty-free message to the country in the new reality series Game of Arms. The AMC-produced show features five regional arm-wrestling teams from across the country, and captures the fiercely competitive world of the sport while showing the personal and family lives of the athletes. Game of Arms premiered on February 26, and according to Entertainment Weekly, more than 1 million people tuned in, including 626,000 adults who were between the ages of 18 and 49. Bigwood says that he follows a plant-based diet for ethical reasons, but notes that veganism is a major asset to his athletic success. “I’m healthier, lighter, and have better endurance during my workouts,” he told Mercy for Animals in an interview.
