Peter Dinklage, who plays fan-favorite Tyrion Lannister on HBO’s Game of Thrones, has been nominated again for a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series. Dinklage won this major distinction in 2011 and a Golden Globe in 2012 for his performances in the first two seasons of the show. The celebrated actor, who stars in the upcoming comedy-sci-fi movie Pixels, is an outspoken vegan who has worked with Farm Sanctuary and People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals to increase awareness about farm animal abuse. Last Week Tonight with John Oliver and The Daily Show with Jon Stewart have also won nominations for Outstanding Variety Series; both shows have covered factory farm abuse extensively. Stewart is opening a farm sanctuary with his wife Tracey, a dedicated vegan, in the near future. VegNews wishes all of our animal-loving friends the best of luck at the Emmys, which take place September 20.
