In time for Thanksgiving, ice cream company Ben & Jerry’s created a “thank you” list to honor groups of people who, the company says, “have worked with us to create linked prosperity and a more just society.” Amongst fair-trade farmers, other b-corporations, flavor gurus, and Phish fans, Ben & Jerry’s thanked their new vegan fans, stating, “We didn’t think our fans could be any more passionate about our ice cream … until we met the non-dairy crowd.” Early this year, the company released four almond milk-based vegan flavors—Chunky Monkey, Coffee Caramel Fudge, P.B. & Cookies, and Chocolate Fudge Brownie—to much clamor from media outlets such as Forbes, Fortune, CNN Money, TIME, and Bon Appetit, which, through extensive taste-testing, confirmed that the venture into non-dairy products was a big success.
