Media outlet Business Insider recently profiled vegan boxer David Haye (aka, “The Hayemaker”) and explained that “if anyone ever asks you whether vegans get enough protein, show them a picture of David Haye.” The boxer made a miraculous comeback to the sport in January—defeating his opponent Mark de Mori in 131 seconds—after a devastating shoulder injury threatened his career. Haye went vegan in 2014 after watching a documentary about factory farming and said, “I did some research to make sure I could still obtain enough protein to fight and, once satisfied that I could, I stopped. I’ll never go back.” The interview traced Haye’s life from his childhood in East London to his prolific career, touching on his ability to remain in the heavyweight classification.
