Experts Argue Why Only A Vegan Could Defeat Negan

Infamous villain of The Walking Dead would stand no chance against a savvy apocalyptic animal-free eater, Psychology Today says.

Post-apocalyptic zombie television series The Walking Dead—the most viewed series in cable television history—revealed the long-awaited villain Negan during its recent season six finale, in which the psychotic gang leader brought a brutal end to one of the series’ main characters. However, Psychology Today recently argued why a vegan would be best suited to thrive in the zombie apocalypse and have an advantage in defeating the maniacal killer. Staying in good health is a benefit to a plant-based diet, one that would help on-the-go survivors. “More, good health is not just the absence of disease, but feeling vital and energetic so that we can evade walkers,” Michael Friedman, PhD said. “The vitamins and minerals that one gets from plants will be critical in increased vitality.” A reliance on meat, the production of which requires huge amounts of resources, is mentioned as being wasteful and inefficient, especially so during the apocalypse. Potential virus contamination by zombie-bitten food animals also plays into an herbivore’s advantage, as does the energy conserved (risks avoided) from refraining from hunting. “To hunt means to travel away from your designated safe haven and bringing your kill back with you,” Chris Cooney, creator of “The Vegan Zombie” YouTube series, said. “This expends a lot of energy and is very risky. With the fact that zombies go after anything living, it would be implied that the animals would always be on the run. Meaning, you may have to travel great distances to find anything.”
