For the month of June, Austin, TX-based juice shop Juice Society added the “Love Latte” in support of the Texas LGBTQ community. The latte is made with a rainbow of superfood ingredients including maqui berries, matcha, turmeric, maple, vanilla, and blue-green algae powder. The shop—which specializes in cold-pressed juices and plant-based foods—will donate $1 from each Love Latte sale to Equality Texas, an organization dedicated to ending discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity or expression. Vegan businesses have been donating their profits to support human-rights causes in recent months. Beauty campaign The Lipstick Lobby launched a vegan lipstick, Kiss My Pink, earlier this month to raise funding for reproductive health organization Planned Parenthood, while New York restaurateur Ravi DeRossi opened the Coup bar in Manhattan this April to support the American Civil Liberties Union and other social justice organizations defunded by the Trump administration.
