Starting this week, the Vegan Cheeseburger will be a permanent menu item at Hungry Jack’s, an Australian franchise brand of the Burger King Corporation. In June, the chain introduced the burger—its first all-vegan menu item—for a limited time to ascertain demand. “We are committed to making sure there is something for everyone at Hungry Jack’s, so we are very excited to offer a great value option to the growing number of vegans around the country,” Hungry Jack’s Chief Marketing Officer Scott Baird said. “We received a terrific response during the trial phase and we are confident Australians will embrace the Vegan Cheeseburger, just as they did the Veggie Whopper, which was introduced 17 years ago and is still going strong.” The Vegan Cheeseburger (which features vegan cheese, two vegetable-based patties, and vegan mayonnaise) is offered at the same price as the animal-based Whopper Cheese, is available at more than 400 locations of Hungry Jack’s across Australia, and can be ordered with a side of vegan-friendly fries.
