Newly crowned Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle was spotted wearing a pair of vegan Stan Smith Adidas sneakers on a recent royal tour of New Zealand’s eco-conscious Abel Tasman National Park. Released in September, the sneakers were created by ethical designer Stella McCartney who partnered with Adidas to conceptualize the iconic sneakers sans animal products. The vegan Stan Smiths feature star designs in place of stripes on the sides and embossed tongues—with McCartney’s portrait on the right and tennis legend Stan Smith’s on the left. Markle is the second high-profile celebrity to endorse the vegan shoes following Madonna who visited McCartney’s London boutique in September to snag herself a one-of-a-kind pair autographed by Stan Smith himself.
