Vegan meat company The Meatless Farm plans to expand its distribution to the United States, Australia, and New Zealand within six months. The company spent two years developing its vegan ground beef and burgers, which it launched at 600 Sainsbury’s supermarkets across the United Kingdom last month. “It has been a great start in the UK and now we are seeking international distribution and on-premise partners,” The Meatless Farm co-founder Morten Tofh Bech said at recent trade show SIAL. “We anticipate particular interest from countries such as Germany, the Netherlands, and Scandinavia, where the meat-free market is thriving.” This year, vegan meat brand Vivera has found success outside of its native Dutch market, selling more than 40,000 of its plant-based steaks within one month of its May debut at UK supermarket Tesco.
