Restaurant Chain Now Serves Secret 8-Pound Vegan Burrito

Chain eatery Freebirds World Burrito recently added a giant vegan burrito to the secret menu at 73 locations nationwide. The Double Super Monster Burrito weighs approximately eight pounds and is a vegan version of an existing meat-based item. The burrito features a vegan meat base made with Beyond Meat beef crumbles that are seasoned with Tex-Mex flavors and mixed with cooked potatoes. It is then layered atop four, 12-inch tortillas (in plain flour, spicy cayenne, spinach, and whole wheat flavors) with other fillings such as Spanish rice, cilantro lime rice, black beans, pinto beans, refried beans, grilled bell peppers, grilled onions, pico de gallo, corn salsa, fresh cilantro, jalapeños, shredded lettuce, guacamole, salsa, and tortilla strips. The giant burrito costs $18-$20 and can only be ordered by name. Freebirds added Beyond Meat crumbles to the menu in July, and the vegan meat option can be ordered in place of meat in other menu items, including bowls, nachos, salads, tacos, and regular-sized burritos.
