Trader Joe’s debuted organic Cashew Fiesta Dip in its refrigerated section earlier this week. The cheese dip alternative ($3.49) is made from a base of cashews and contains potatoes, carrots, onions, green chile peppers, and spices. The oil- and soy-free dip is clearly labeled “vegan” and is best served warm. This new vegan dip joins several new plant-based products at the popular grocery chain. Since November, Trader Joe’s has debuted vegan jackfruit-based crabless cakes, seasonal cultured coconut milk yogurts, and pine-tree shaped Christmas sugar cookies. Trader Joe’s has also expanded its dairy-free cheese offerings with the release of Miyoko’s Un-Lox Your Dreams Cream Cheese earlier this year, as well as its private-labeled Vegan Mozzarella Style Shreds.
