Pinterest Names Vegan Food Top Wedding Trend

In its predictive 2018 Wedding Report, Pinterest named vegan food a growing trend. The social-media platform chose the top “pins” (topics that users save to their boards) for the year and organized them into several categories, including Hair & Beauty, Style, Decor, and Destinations. Pinterest chose “How to Plan a Vegan Wedding” as one of its 13 top pins in the Food and Drinks section. The featured pin highlighted a destination wedding in France planned by Wanderlust Wedding specialist Lisa Boncristiano that included 130 guests who were treated to vegetable miniature quiches, panisses, zucchini tempura, roasted polenta, stuffed vegetables, and a vegan cheese platter. In its 2017 year-end top 100 report, Pinterest identified vegan desserts as a top trend and revealed that pins related to the topic increased by 329 percent last year.
