Australia-based chain Chocolateria San Churro will launch next week 24 vegan options at its 52 locations. The eatery previously cooked its churros in oil that contained traces of eggs but decided to adjust the practice to fulfill customer demand for vegan options. Customers can now order vegan churros in a variety of ways, such as shareable plates that are served with a choice of dark chocolate or cookie-butter dip, churros filled with cookie butter, child-friendly churro portions, and bowls made from churros—including The Happy Vegan Churro Bowl, which features a cinnamon-sugar rolled churro shaped into a bowl that is stuffed with honey-free Salted Caramel & Honeycomb gelato, drizzled with dark chocolate, and topped with Oreo cookies and strawberries. The chain also serves several vegan drinks such as the Choc Caramel Craving shake and seven varieties of hot chocolate made with a choice of soy or almond milk. “We are excited to announce the launch of our new vegan desserts, which add a wider variety of options to our pre-existing offer of classic churros and Spanish dark chocolate,” San Churro CEO Giro Maurici said. “At San Churro, our brand motto is ‘mi casa [es] su casa.’ We want all people to feel welcome in our stores and to leave with a fun, vibrant, and memorable experience.”
