Food brand Dr. Praeger’s recently launched a new Pure Plant Protein line of vegan meat products. The line includes Sunday Funday Meatless Sausages, three flavors of “chik’n” tenders (Classic, Gametime Buffalo, and Grandpa Mel’s BBQ), two veggie burgers: a reformulated All American and a new Sweet Heat Beet, and kid-friendly Super Green Veggie Nuggets. The company created the line to highlight the protein content of vegetables and reach a growing demographic of plant-based consumers. “The number of consumers—particularly millennials—adopting a plant-based lifestyle, is soaring. As more consumers choose to forgo meat, we’re seeing an increase in demand for veggie-forward options with clean, simple ingredients, made without any fillers or anything artificial,” David Cantor, Vice President of Marketing for Dr. Praeger’s, told VegNews. “When we developed the Pure Plant Protein line, we opted for pea protein because we wanted to provide high-protein options that all consumers could enjoy. Our goal is to create products to support this new generation of eaters who don’t want to sacrifice health for convenience, regardless of their diet.”
