Starting today, Chipotle Mexican Grill is rewarding its customers for ordering meatless meals in honor of Vegetarian Awareness Month. The chain will grant customers 150 bonus points today and every Monday in October (limit one order per customer per day) for purchasing options such as its newly introduced Vegan Bowl, meals ordered with sofritas, or other vegetarian entrées. “Our digital-first customers understand that the more you Chipotle, the more you can get free Chipotle so we’re continuing to find creative ways to celebrate and reward them,” Tressie Lieberman, Vice President of Digital and Off-Premise at Chipotle Mexican Grill, said. Chipotle offers one free entrée for every 1,250 bonus points—which are accessed by ordering in app, online, or in store with a code. While many chains are adding plant-based meat options, Chipotle CEO Brian Niccol recently revealed that the chain is dedicated to promoting its existing options such as the sofritas—which has been purchased in 14 million entrées since Chipotle launched the tofu-based option in 2014.
