From October 26 until October 31, coffeehouse chain Starbucks will add a vegan Phantom Frappucino to its menu across Europe. The limited edition beverage is made with coconut milk, mango and pineapple essence, Starbucks crème Frappuccino syrup, vegan “ghoulish lime slime”—which contains spirulina, charcoal powder, and lime and lemon juice. The Halloween-themed beverage also comes topped with coconut-based whipped cream that has been colored black with charcoal. “Starbucks has always been committed to offering customers products that meet their diverse needs and taste preferences,” a Starbucks spokesperson told Insider. “As more people choose a dairy-free diet, we are making sure customers don’t have to miss out on new product launches by widening our range of vegan friendly options.” Last year, Starbucks removed the dairy components of its Pumpkin Spice Latte base to offer a fully vegan version of the seasonal beverage in select locations across Europe and the United Kingdom.
