On November 20, fast-food chain Burger Lounge will debut an all-vegan cheeseburger at all 24 locations in California. The Organic Quinoa Vegan Burger will feature a patty made with organic red quinoa, fonio, brown rice, mushrooms, zucchini, carrots, and corn. The patty will be offered on a vegan bun and topped with dairy-free cheddar cheese from Minneapolis-based vegan butcher shop The Herbivorous Butcher, along with vegan Thousand Island sauce, pickles, onion, tomato, and lettuce. Burger Lounge currently offers a vegetarian quinoa burger with dairy-based cheese and Thousand Island sauce. The chain partnered with The Herbivorous Butcher to offer dairy-free cheese and make it part of a fully vegan option. Burger Lounge plans to launch more vegan-friendly menu options in the coming months, including a new salad.
