This Saturday, rapper Jermaine Dupri will host a vegan Thanksgiving meal at the West Hunter Street Baptist Church in Atlanta to serve families in need. The rapper partnered with animal-rights group People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) to offer the meal, which features roasted vegan turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, mushroom gravy, and pumpkin pie. Families will also receive Tofurky roasts to take home. “I’ve been vegan for over a decade, and for me, there’s nothing better for feeling your best and knowing you’re helping the planet and animals,” Dupri said. “The holidays are about the spirit of giving, and PETA and I want to give people in Atlanta a Thanksgiving meal that’s healthy, humane, and delicious.” This weekend, Atlanta will also be home to the first annual Plant Based Drippin Festival and Concert, a multi-faceted event sponsored by Lululemon and hosted by rapper Grey—who is known for freestyle rapping about vegan Thanksgiving in a viral 2016 video.
