Starting on March 11, a vegan breakfast item featuring Beyond Meat’s Beyond Sausage will be added to the menu at all 925 locations of fast-food chain A&W across Canada. Called the “Beyond Meat Sausage & Veggie,” the vegan sandwich will consist of a new sausage patty created by Beyond Meat specifically for A&W, which will be served on an English muffin with lettuce and tomato. The Beyond Meat sausage will also be available as a vegetarian breakfast sandwich called the Beyond Meat Sausage & Egger. In July, the chain partnered with Beyond Meat to introduce its Beyond Burger patty to its 925 locations in Canada. A&W’s Beyond Burger is served with lettuce, onion, pickles, and tomato, and can be ordered completely vegan by omitting mayonnaise and ordering it on lettuce instead of a bun. The A&W expansion marked a milestone for the vegan patty which is now available at more than 10,000 points of distribution globally.
