Starting April 25, Mexican-inspired chain Del Taco Restaurants, Inc. will serve Beyond Meat vegan options at all of its 580 locations. The announcement was made by Del Taco CEO John D. Cappasola during an investor meeting earlier this week. The chain initially tested the Beyond Meat protein option—made with a specially seasoned blend of Beyond Meat Beef Crumbles—at two Los Angeles locations in September before expanding the trail run to 16 California outposts in December. “The consumer opportunity is immense and exciting,” Cappasola said. “There is no one else doing it in our category at the price point we plan to offer.” The Beyond Meat option can be ordered in place of meat in any menu item and is available as two set menu items: Avocado Beyond Taco (ordered vegan as-is) and Beyond Taco (ordered vegan by omitting cheese).
