On September 2, world champion race car driver Lewis Hamilton will open vegan burger restaurant Neat Burger in London, United Kingdom. He plans to expand the restaurant globally over the next two years with 14 franchises in cities such as New York and Los Angeles. The five-time Formula One winner and vegan collaborated with hospitality group The Cream Group along Beyond Meat investor Tommaso Chiabara to open the chain. Neat Burger will offer three core burgers using Beyond Meat vegan patties: The Neat, The Cheese, and The Chick’n, as well as hot dogs, skinny fries, sweet potato fries, and tater tots. The eatery will also stock Just Water, the eco-conscious brand launched by father-and-son team Will and Jaden Smith, as well as Lemonaid sodas, dairy-free soft serve, and coconut and soy-based milkshakes. “As someone who follows a plant-based diet, I believe we need a healthier high-street option that tastes amazing, but also offers something exciting to those who want to be meat-free every now and again,” Hamilton said. Hamilton has been vocal about veganism and environmental issues since going vegan in 2017. Earlier this summer, he threw a vegan BBQ for his British Grand Prix teammates, sharing Beyond Meat burgers and sausages.
