Vegan actor Jerome Flynn—known for his role as Bronn on popular television series Game of Thrones—will be narrating a new animal-rights documentary about an industrial pig farm in Warwickshire, England. Titled Hogwood: A Modern Horror Story, the documentary will be produced by animal welfare charity Viva! after raising £30,000 ($37,000 US) through a successful crowdfunding campaign. The film will be based on Viva’s campaign against Hogwood Farm and will aim to expose the truth about modern farming practices. In July, Viva published its third investigation of the farm since 2017, which led to a suspension of Hogwood’s Red Tractor food quality certification pending further investigation and supermarket giant Tesco cutting ties with the meat supplier. “It is an honor to be presenting this very important film. After seeing the horrendous conditions and animal abuse that is happening behind Hogwood’s walls I had to do something,” Flynn said. “The pigs of Hogwood aren’t just meat products, they are sensitive, emotionally aware beings just like us and they deserve better than this.” Flynn is a known animal-right supporter who has partnered with organizations such as People For the Ethical Treatment of Animals to create campaigns that urge people to go vegan for the animals.
