Florida-based chain Miami Grill—which counts musician Armando Christian “Pitbull” Pérez as its key equity partner—is working to expand its plant-based options after adding the Beyond Burger to its menu last month. “The Beyond Burger has quickly accounted for 25 percent of our total burger sales,” Miami Grill Chief Operating Officer Jonathan H. Vogel said. “That’s a telling statistic. It ultimately led us down this path of menu expansion in the plant-based area.” While exact menu items have yet to be announced, the chain is exploring a variety of dishes to satisfy what it discovered is a strong demand for plant-based options. “Given the popularity of the Beyond Burger at our restaurants and positive feedback around its great taste, we have decided to begin the process of expanding our plant-based food options,” Vogel said. “Our culinary chef and team will assist us with this initiative to complement our current menu including chicken, meatballs, seafood, gyros, and cheesesteaks. It’s very clear that consumers are looking for alternative food options.”
