This week, vegan brand Daiya Foods launched its Daiya Cutting Board Cheddar Style Shreds at 15 Costco locations in Los Angeles and Hawaii. The vegan cheese is available in a double-pack (14.11-ounces each bag) for a suggested retail price of $11.49. The Cutting Board shreds are a reformulation of Daiya’s original shredded cheese and are made to be meltier and stretchier.

“This expansion into Costco means Daiya, the number one plant-based cheese brand will be readily available for all consumers,” Dan Hua, Vice President of Marketing at Daiya, told VegNews. “Our larger format gives consumers an opportunity to develop new, larger recipes during a time when most are spending a lot of time at home. In addition, our new cheeze shreds are made with chickpea protein and have a better flavor, melt, and stretch than you’d expect from any dairy-free cheeze, so we’re encouraging people to forget what they think they know about the taste of vegan cheeze and instead give us a try.”

Costco customers in Los Angeles, along with those in the Pacifc Northwest, can also find Daiya’s chocolate-enrobed Classic Vanilla Bean Dessert Bars in a 10-pack for $9.99.
