This week, vegan snack brand Outstanding Foods announced the upcoming launch of its PigOut Pork Rinds. The new baked snacks will be available in four, soy-free flavors: Original, Hella Hot, Texas BBQ, and Nacho Cheese. Founded by serial entrepreneur Bill Glaser and David Anderson—one of the co-founders of food-technology company JUST and a former chef at vegan brand Beyond Meat—the brand launched its first product line, bacon-flavored vegan PigOut Chips, in 2018. “I’m really excited about our pigless pork rinds—I honestly cannot stop eating them. Of all the products that I’ve had a hand in creating, these are definitely the most craveable,” Anderson said. Outstanding Foods previously raised $1.5 million, with investments made by Nickelodeon star Daniella Monet and actress Emily Deschanel. “I don’t even know how to explain it,” Monet said about the new vegan pork rinds. “It’s like nothing I’ve ever had in my mouth.” PigOut Pork Rinds can be purchased on Outstanding Foods’ website starting February 7 for $3.99 (3.5 ounces) and $1.79 (1 ounces) per bag or for a limited time 20 percent off promotion of $12.76 for four bags. Outstanding Foods is also developing a new version of its PigOut Chips that will be shaped to mimic bacon strips.
