Today, Pennsylvania-based convenience store chain Wawa, Inc. will add the vegan Beyond Breakfast Sausage to its menu at 650 locations in the mid-Atlantic region, including in PA, NJ, DE, MD, VA, and Washington, DC, with 220 additional locations in Florida to offer the vegan meat patty starting August 10. Wawa will feature Beyond Breakfast Sausage in a non-vegan Sizzli breakfast sandwich made with egg and cheese. Beyond Meat’s vegan patty will also be available to order in place of meat in breakfast bowls, burritos, and built-to-order bagels.

“We’re pleased to offer Beyond Breakfast Sausage, a new and innovative plant-based protein option to our customers to continue fulfilling lives as a food and beverage destination for everyone,” Wawa Chief Product Marketing Officer Mike Sherlock said. “We know that consumers are looking for more plant-based options and we’re proud to partner with Beyond Meat, a leader in plant-based meat, to offer our customers more choice through the Wawa Your Way initiative.” The initiative features six lifestyle menus, including a “Plant Based” category that includes animal products but helps customers order meatless meals.

Wawa follows the lead of fellow Pennsylvania chain Sheetz, which became the first convenience chain in the United States to add the Beyond Burger—which can be ordered in 47 customizable ways—to its nearly 600 locations in December.
