Starting this week, the plant-based Impossible Burger will be available at Target locations nationwide. The plant-based meat will be sold in a 12-ounce package in the meat aisle inside Target’s grocery section. Impossible Foods has launched a locator tool to help customers find their nearest Target store that now offers the Impossible Burger.
The Target launch is the latest step in Impossible Foods’ aggressive retail expansion. The California-based company first launched its flagship burger in the retail sector in September 2019. In an effort to meet shifting consumer habits sparked by the COVID-19 pandemic, Impossible Foods has grown its retail distribution by 66-fold in 2020 to more than 10,000 locations, including Walmart, Sprouts Farmers Market, Trader Joe’s, and Kroger—where the plant-based meat is available in a pre-formed patty format.
