A UK Startup Will Pay You $66,000 Per Year to Travel the World and Eat Vegan Food

United Kingdom-based meal delivery service company Vibrant Vegan is hiring a “Director of Taste.” The position offers a $66,000 annual salary (with all travel expenses covered) with 28 paid vacation days and tasks the right candidate to travel around the world to discover new vegan foods and ingredients. “We are always on the hunt for new talent because I’m a firm believer that it’s the people that make a successful company,” Vibrant Vegan founder Iain Burke-Hamilton told Insider UK. “However, I don’t think we’ve ever recruited for a job this exciting before. This is a very unique and rewarding job but despite its extensive perks, we acknowledge it’s also very demanding.” The qualified candidate will have at least three years of experience working as a chef or in the food business and will be willing to commit 35 hours per week to the position. “There are hundreds of ingredients and recipes across the world that haven’t been presented to the UK consumer, so we hope our new recruit will be able to inspire some new and tasty recipes for our vegan ready meal offering,” Burke-Hamilton said. The Director of Taste will visit countries such as India, China, Turkey, Chile, Mexico, and Japan, spending up to four months in each country and reporting new findings to Vibrant Vegan, as well as fostering partnerships abroad. “I believe innovation is at the heart of food, so I want someone with an innovative and creative mind to help us build on our current recipes,” Burke-Hamilton said. The delivery company currently offers a wide array of vegan meals—such as Malaysian Gyoza, Diavolo No-Meatball Bolognese, and Glorious Goan Stew—available as six-item customizable boxes that are packed with recycled jeans to minimize wasteful packaging. Vibrant Vegan also works closely with War Child, an organization that fights child hunger in war-torn areas of the world.
